What is a "soul?" Guest speaker Bob Mackura offers depth and substance to the challenge of understanding what a soul is and how to engage it through its many stages of awakening.
For more than 15 years Bob has helped people of many faiths and lifestyles deepen their experience and relationship with their souls. He is an author, teacher, and mentor specializing in assisting people in transition and accelerated soul awakening. For 10 years he was the founder and spiritual director of a non-denominational spiritual sanctuary on the Big Island of Hawaii.

The Good News Project offers prayer for healing every Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Covenant Church office at 10064 Streeter Road, Unit 5. Streeter Road is located 1/4 mile South of Highway 49 and Combie Road intersection. Follow the sign to the rear of the building, where the offices are located.

The Healing Rooms of Nevada County are open. We pray for the healing for the body, soul and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. Mountain Stream Meditation Center, a Buddhist Insight Meditation group, meets Mondays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Wild Mountain Yoga, 574 Searls Ave. in Nevada City. On Monday John Travis, guiding teacher of Mountain Stream, will talk on "Humor/Dharma and Emptiness" after a 45-minute silent meditation. John has been teaching meditation since 1986, is a senior teacher at Spirit Rock Center in Woodside, and teaches at retreats around the country. All levels of practice are welcome.

Pray Nevada County - seeking God on behalf of our communities is open to all Christians. Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. To pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses and media and churches and parachurch ministries. Since August 1997, 15-25 people from 8-12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities.
