Cats and dogs reign at shelter

Tiani Thompson, a senior at Bear River High School working at the Nevada County Animal Shelter is shown with Shawna, a Collie mix. The shelter has lots of cats and dogs available for adoption, and received 16 puppies this week. If you can adopt a shelter animal, now is the time. If you can't adopt, Sammies Friends is a medical fund for shelter animals. Send donations to 128 High St., Grass Valley, 95945.
