Memorial services for Jerry Harrison Lewis of North Carolina will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Davis Free Will Baptist Church in Davis, N.C.
Mr. Lewis died Thursday, Dec. 7, at home surrounded by family and friends. He was 74.
He was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Beaufort, N.C., to Ion and Mollie Lewis. He served four years in the U.S. Navy, 16 years in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves, and retired after 26 years of employment with NARF at Cherry Point MCAS, NC in 1982.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara G. Lewis; children Jerry Michael Lewis and wife Susan of Grass Valley, Barbara "Sissy" Styron and husband Kenny of Davis, N.C., Donna Lewis Smith and husband Dean of Atlantic, N.C., Thomas "Tommy" Lewis and wife Pamela of Davis, N.C., and Nancy-Kay Lewis Grice and husband Raymond "Chip" of Davis, N.C.; grandchildren Kim LeMay and husband Charles of Atlantic, N.C., Carrie Ann and Mary Ann Styron of Portland, Ore., Charles Dean Smith, Jr. of New Bern, N.C., Alison Neil Styron of Morehead City, N.C., Teresa Styron Giddeons and husband Patrick of Willard, N.C., Kenneth "Neil" Styron of Davis, N.C., William Harrison Smith of Atlantic, N.C., Zachary Lewis of Grass Valley, Aly Lewis of Grass Valley, Mollie Grice of Davis, N.C., Cameron Lewis of Grass Valley, Drew Grice of Davis, N.C., Olivia Lewis of Davis, N.C., and Brianna Lewis of Davis, N.C.; great-grandchildren Emily Grayson LeMay of Atlantic, N.C., Ion Harmon and Lola Raymond of Portland, Ore., Maggie LeMay of Beaufort, N.C., CJ LeMay of Atlantic, N.C., and Nathan Giddeons of Willard, N.C.; and sisters-in-law Myra Lewis and Nancy Willis both of Davis, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ion and Mollie Lewis; brother, Ion Lane Lewis; and son, Martin Andrew "Marty" Lewis.
