Grass Valley Police Department

Sunday

• At 12:15 p.m., a man called from the 800 block of Old Tunnel Road to report his wallet was stolen. He said the wallet was missing from his apartment and he would talk to people in his apartment complex about it. He called back to say he would like to speak with an officer about the issue. An officer arrived and the wallet was found under the bed.

• At 1:12 p.m., a caller from the 300 block of Mill Street reported a suspicious-looking man with an umbrella entered a laundry room through a window.

• At 1:55 p.m., a caller from Vistamont Drive and Morgan Ranch Drive reported debris in the storm drains was creating a standing water hazard in the intersection.

• At 1:57 p.m., a caller reported a hit-and-run accident in a parking lot off East Main Street.

• At 9:35 p.m., police arrested a 36-year-old man on the 100 block of Neal Street for a local warrant and violation of probation.



Monday

• At 8:18 a.m., a caller from a business on the 100 block of Mill Street reported a window was broken.

• At 8:46 a.m., a caller from the 500 block of Kate Hayes Street reported a dog bit an employee on Saturday and the employee did not receive medical attention. Information was given to Animal Control.

Sunday

• At 11:56 a.m., a woman called from the 13000 block of Clancy Way to report neighbors were shooting a BB gun onto her property, which is also a Christmas tree farm. She said her patrons were scared. A deputy advised the man of the county's shooting ordinance.

• At 11:58 a.m., a caller from the 11000 block of Squirrel Creek Road reported a woman was chasing a man down the street and she was under the influence of marijuana. A deputy requested information about a domestic violence case.

• At 3:10 p.m., a caller from the hospital reported a woman who lives on the 18000 block of Cooper Road suffered multiple bruises and burns. The woman did not want to press charges against anyone. A deputy took a report.

• At 7:52 p.m., a man called to report his wife and her boyfriend just broke into the house to try and get his son. The man locked himself in the bathroom with his son before he called the sheriff's office. A deputy determined the woman entered the house unlawfully and took a report for criminal threats and trespassing.

• At 8:06 p.m., a caller from Child Protective Services requested assistance with a call about a 2-year-old in the hospital with a compound femur fracture. The toddler lives on the 16000 block of You Bet Road. The child reportedly fell out of bed. A deputy took a report for child endangerment. No arrest was made.

• At 9:21 p.m., a caller from the hospital reported a 37-year-old woman was hospitalized after domestic violence. The victim did not know if she wanted to press charges. A deputy took a report.

• At 11:45 p.m., deputies arrested a 44-year-old man on Nevada City Highway for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine.



Monday

• At 12:07 a.m., a woman called from the 14000 block of Apache Court to report a fight with her husband. He threw a beer bottle at her and he was drunk. The woman took her children.

• At 8:04 a.m., a caller from the 10000 block of Combie Road reported a recreational vehicle was burglarized and several items were taken. A second caller from the same area reported his unit was damaged as well.

Sunday

• At 10:12 p.m., a caller from the 200 block of Broad Street reported a man collapsed at a bar. An officer cited the man for public drunkenness. He would remain at the hospital emergency room until he sobered up.



Fire Calls

Monday

• At 11:10 a.m., a caller from the 100 block of East Main Street reported a fire. The Fire Department arrived and no smoke was showing outside of the building. Firefighters determined a furnace had malfunctioned.
