Police blotter

Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

• At 10:47 a.m., a caller reported a public bus headed toward Brunswick Road had its flashing "Call 911" sign on. Police investigated, and it was a false alarm.

• At 7:44 p.m., a woman called from the 800 block of Old Tunnel Road to report a man tried to taze her and three others. A second caller said the woman threatened him with a gun, but he did not see the gun. Police stood by while the man gathered his things and was advised not to return to the apartment.

• At 9:59 p.m., a caller reported an assault at a restaurant on Plaza Drive. Police took a report.

• At 11:27 p.m., a man called from the 800 block of Annex Avenue to report he was being robbed by people who "looked like hippies." Police made contact with a 47-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man in a white Honda. The man was arrested for drunken driving, being under the influence of a controlled substance and violation of probation.



Tuesday

• At 3:10 a.m., a woman reported two men stole her car. Police made contact with the woman and arrested her for possession of a controlled substance and a Placer County Warrant. The car was located, unoccupied, behind a grocery store on Nevada City Highway.

Monday

• At 8:46 a.m., a woman called to report fraudulent use of checks from her bank account. A deputy took a report.

• At 9:37 a.m., a caller from the 12000 block of Lakeshore North reported theft. Several items were missing. The caller suspected a woman who used to work for her, and she had the woman's fingerprints on file. A deputy took a report.

• At 9:53 a.m., a caller from Red Dog Road reported students waiting for the bus were throwing large rocks at passing cars every morning. The caller requested extra patrol in the area.

• At 11:09 a.m., a caller from the 14000 block of Indian Springs Road reported a neighbor was shooting and killing the woodpeckers in her neighborhood.

• At 3:51 p.m., a caller reported a residential burglary on the 10000 block of Crestview Drive. A deputy took a report.

• At 5:37 p.m., a caller from the 700 block of Hoover Lane reported a football coach grabbed her son's neck and choked him. The incident was related to a joke another player made during practice. A deputy would contact the coach.

• At 8:34 p.m., a woman called from the 15000 block of Goldcone Drive to report finding nine suspicious-looking holes dug on her property, each approximately three to four feet deep and two feet across.



Tuesday

• At 4:40 a.m., a caller from the 17000 block of Penn Valley Drive reported three boys were out vandalizing vehicles. She saw them attempt to take pieces off vehicles. Deputies were unable to locate the juveniles.

• At 11:31 a.m., a caller from the 23000 block of Hydraulic Way reported child neglect. A deputy took a report.

Police Department

Monday

• At 8:23 a.m., a caller from the courthouse on Church Street requested a case number for a threat against a judicial officer.

• At 9:28 a.m., a caller from a school on the 100 block of New Mohawk Road reported a juvenile had prescription drugs - hydrocodone and adderal - that were not in his name. Police arrested the juvenile for possession of controlled substances for sale.



Tuesday

• At 6:37 a.m., a caller from the 600 block of Hollow Way reported people were living in a camp behind berry bushes between a parking lot and a ball field.

Monday

• At 5:28 p.m., a caller from the Grass Valley area wanted to report an illegal burn pile.
