Grass Valley Police Department

Sunday

• At 12:03 p.m., a caller from the 200 block of Fairmont Drive reported an elderly woman who had moved into the neighborhood the day before went for a walk and didn't remember where her house was. An officer took the 85-year-old woman home and contacted a relative.

• At 2:40 p.m., a caller from the 100 block of King Court asked to speak to an officer regarding the theft of two harmonicas. At 5:07 p.m., a neighbor accused someone from the same address of throwing garbage into the neighbor's yard and staring at the neighbor's children. Police contacted both parties.

• At 6:03 p.m., police responded to a call to the 100 block of Neal Street. They arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of violating a restraining order.

• At 9 p.m., a caller reported a man had stolen a beer from a bar on Neal Street. Police arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of public drunkenness; the man made restitution to the bar. He also matched the description given in a 10:30 p.m. report from a nearby business of a man who had been denied the purchase of alcohol and who was harassing an employee.

• At 9 p.m., a person reported a man in a white Ford Mustang convertible who was standing up naked while the car traveled south on South Auburn Street. A dispatcher advised patrol.



Monday

• At 10:28 a.m., a man from the 300 block of Sutton Way reported a neighbor was screaming. Police told the man to keep it down.

• At 11:38 a.m., a caller from the 1400 block of Segeworth Way reported vandalism to a vehicle. Police took a report.

Sunday

• At 4:40 a.m., a caller from Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital reported a 20-year-old man was in the emergency room with injuries suffered in a 4 a.m. assault near a gasoline station on Pleasant Valley Road.

• At 2:29 p.m., a caller from the 10000 block of Bar Hill Road reported threats from a neighbor. At 8:27 p.m., deputies arrested a 50-year-old Penn Valley man on suspicion of threatening a crime when he returned to the area.

• At 3:31 p.m., a woman from the 16000 block of Marion Way reported a 3-foot-long iguana sitting in a tree in her backyard. Nevada County Animal Control was unable to respond, and she lost sight of the reptile.

• At 3:59 p.m., the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection responded to a medical emergency on Robin Street. Although an assault may have occurred, a deputy was unable to investigate immediately due to a language barrier.

• At 5:41 p.m., caller from the 15000 block of Wolf Mountain Road reported a burglary to a locked trailer.

• At 10:35 p.m., a woman reported $95 was taken from her wallet in her unlocked vehicle at a restaurant on Penn Valley Drive. A report was taken.



Monday

• At 2:40 a.m., two boys were reported to have run away from a youth center on Bissell Place. The boys were found at 3:52 a.m. by Auburn police in a van after spotting the van traveling with one wheel riding on the rim. The van also had hit a light pole there. The van appeared to have been stolen from a related facility in Grass Valley. One boy was taken into custody.

• At 10:17 a.m., a caller reported an injured deer on Highway 49.

Monday

• At 6:59 a.m., a man from the 300 block of Long Street reported another man came into his house and yelled at him to get out. The caller followed this person down the street and watched him attempt to disturb other residences, than ran around a nearby convenience store carrying a beer. Police advised the man not to return or face charges of trespassing.

• At 7:25 a.m., a caller from a store on Zion Street reported many items dumped behind the store during the weekend.

• At 10:46 a.m., a caller reported a transient camp next to the baseball diamond behind the Madelyn Helling County Library. Police found no one present.
