Police blotter

Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

• At 2:40 p.m., police arrested a 32-year-old man on South Auburn Street for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

• At 4:20 p.m., a caller from a drug store on Sutton Way reported a customer was denied service earlier and has since been making threats.

• At 5:01 p.m., a caller from Partridge Road reported juveniles were driving a golf cart in the street. Police advised the juveniles to go home.

• At 8:28 p.m., a caller from a bank on Sutton Way reported that a woman driving a full-sized Chevrolet truck yelled and swore at the caller for taking a parking space.

• At 11:06 p.m., a caller from the 300 block of Main Street reported the neighbor was playing drums.

Saturday

• At 11:08 p.m., a caller from Richardson Street at Washington Street reported a noninjury accident involving a bicyclist and a truck. Police took a report.

• At 3:55 p.m., a caller from North School Street reported a woman was screaming for help. Police made contact with three juveniles who were on a trampoline.

• At 4:33 p.m., a park ranger called to report several residential garbage cans were found in the creek. Some were returned to the residents; however, some were not labeled.

• At 6:56 p.m., police arrested a 65-year-old man on South Church Street for drunken driving.

• At 9:43 p.m., a woman called from the 100 block of Bawden Avenue to report someone moved a garden hose and wrapped it around a car. A patrol officer was advised.

• At 10:51 p.m., police arrested an 18-year-old woman on Bank Street at Dow Alexander Park for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• At 11:48 p.m., police arrested a 24-year-old man at a bar on the 100 block of Neal Street for battery with serious bodily injury.



Sunday

• At 2:15 a.m., police arrested a man on South Auburn Street for drunken driving.

• At 4:49 a.m., a caller from the 1000 block of East Main Street reported a woman was under a vehicle, disturbing the peace. The caller was holding the woman until police arrived. Police arrested the 22-year-old woman for being drunk in public.

• At 7:34 a.m., a caller from a fast food restaurant on East Main Street reported several people in the parking lot were engaged in drug activity. They left in a white Toyota Camry, going toward Hughes Road.

• At 8:18 a.m., police towed three vehicles from a bank parking lot on the 200 block of Mill Street.

Friday

• At 12:08 p.m., a caller from the 18000 block of Penn Valley Road reported vandalism of a baseball diamond snack bar.

• At 12:12 p.m., an Amber Alert was issued for a 28-year-old woman who took a little girl from Fair Oaks and was possibly en route to El Dorado or Placer counties. She was the noncustodial parent of the girl. The woman was apprehended in Sacramento and the child was recovered safely.

• At 3:56 p.m., local law enforcement was alerted to be on the lookout for a runaway juvenile, last seen on the 10000 block of West Piper Lane.

• At 5:37 p.m., deputies arrested three people on the 13000 block of Montre Lane for warrants, probation violation and drug offenses.

• At 7:03 p.m., a caller from the 12000 block of Creek View Drive reported seeing a neighbor throw rocks at the caller's Chevrolet van, breaking the window. Deputies cited the neighbor for vandalism.

• At 9:17 p.m., a woman called from the 11000 block of Paradise Lane to report someone broke her cheek bone. Deputies took a report for assault.

• At 9:27 p.m., a caller reported receiving information from children that they were approached on the 11000 block of Butler Road by a man who pulled a knife on the caller's son, put the knife up by the child's ear and called the child names. The man left after other juveniles ran into the house screaming. Deputies made contact with all involved parties and the man was advised not to return to the property. The incident was a joke about the juvenile's earring that got out of hand. The caller was advised of the restraining order process.



Saturday

• At 3:55 a.m., a woman called from the 11000 block of Bedrock Drive to report people were on her roof and in her husband's shop. One was wearing a plaid shirt and the other was a small child wearing a bear suit. Deputies made contact. What the woman saw was possibly the result of her medication.

• At 9:17 a.m., a caller from the 17000 block of Greenhorn Road reported mailboxes had been shot with a shotgun. Deputies took a report.

• At 10:21 a.m., a caller from the 12000 block of Rattlesnake Road reported that someone toilet-papered a vehicle, smashed tomatoes and duct-taped the doors.

• At 9:27 p.m., a caller reported bonfires at Greenhorn Creek. Deputies contacted eight parties and warned them about campfires in the area.



Sunday

• At 6:12 a.m., a caller from the 13000 block of Torrey Pines Drive reported a golf cart was stolen and was found in the water. Security guards chased the thieves but were unable to apprehend them. The caller did not want to pursue charges.

• At 7:07 a.m., a woman called from the 12000 block of Loma Rica Drive to report she was locked inside a gate. She and her husband were at a wedding reception at the property next door, and the gates were locked before they could exit the property. She had no idea who to call. She said she would try to locate an owner or a caretaker.



Fire Calls

Saturday

• At 4:50 p.m., a caller from the 11000 block of Thorncroft Way reported a fire was started by three juvenile boys who threw an incendiary object into bushes to start the blaze. A deputy determined the fire was actually started by a contractor. The caller was very intoxicated and confrontational.
