Police Department

Tuesday

• At 3 p.m., a man from the 100 block of West Berryhill Drive reported his girlfriend had called saying she had thrown all his stuff outside and taken all his money.

• At 4:34 p.m., a caller from the 200 block of Mill Street reported vandalism to a vehicle.

• At 6:02 p.m., a caller from the corner of Mainheart and Kate Hayes streets reported a brown-and-white mid-sized mutt that was not fenced in and that tried to attack a person.

• At 6:32 p.m., police searched a residence on the 200 block of North Church Street, arresting three people on suspicion of drug violations and one of them on a probation violation.

• At 8:03 p.m., a man reported his wallet and checkbook had been stolen from a vehicle on Mill Street. When police tried to follow up, the man's roommate said the man was heavily medicated and asleep and would not wake him up.

• At 8:12 p.m., police cited a man on the 300 block of Second Street for a probation violation.

• At 8:39 p.m., a woman from a business on West McKnight Way reported she had set the alarm and closed the business with the wrong keys. An officer helped her back inside.



Wednesday

• At 7 a.m., a caller from the 100 block of Ocean Avenue reported a rabid skunk in the blackberry bushes. Information was sent to Grass Valley Animal Control.

• At 7:36 a.m., a caller from the 200 block of Horizon Circle reported a boat had been parked on the street more than 72 hours.

• At 9:51 a.m, a caller from Woodcrest Way at Ridge Road asked for extra patrols when the high school gets out due to speeders.

Sheriff's Department

Tuesday

• At 1:56 p.m., a domestic dispute on Powerline Road resulted in one person being taken to a trauma unit at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. No more information was available.

• At 2:49 p.m., deputies at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility booked a 55-year-old Grass Valley man on suspicion of annoying or molesting a child under 18 years of age.

• At 3:01 p.m., a toddler who was reported missing on the 11000 block of Brunswick Drive was found sleeping after about 15 minutes.

• At 4:57 p.m., a caller from the 18000 block of Gopher Lane reported losing a wallet containing $8,000 to $9,000 between Redding and Nevada County.

• At 5:28 p.m., a caller from Bush Road at North Bloomfield Road reported a bear attacked a vehicle.

• At 10:53 p.m., a caller from the 10000 block of Pine Hill Drive reported a woman and child in a physical fight. The woman admitted slapping the child, who declined to press charges.



Wednesday

• At 8:46 a.m., a caller on the 11000 block of Colfax Highway reported the theft of recyclable cans.

• At 9:12 a.m., a caller from the 13000 block of Sontag Road reported the theft of a plant worth $40.

Police Department

Tuesday

• At 6:24 p.m., a disturbance was reported on the 800 block of Zion Street.

• At 9:53 p.m., a man reported a "very hostile" man was banging on his door and asking for his identification; the intruder left in an unknown vehicle.



Wednesday

• At 10:20 a.m. Wednesday in Nevada City, police arrested a 44-year-old Penn Valley woman on the 100 block of Pine North Street on a probation violation.



Fire Calls

Wednesday

• At 11 a.m., a caller from the 300 block of Brock Road reported smoke coming from a structure. The Nevada City Fire Department responded and found food had been left in a microwave oven.
