Nevada County Sheriff's Office

Saturday

• At 12:03 a.m., a woman called from George Way saying she could hear people in the street hitting each other.

• At 1:05 a.m., a caller from Bonnie View Way reported hearing five gunshots fired in the area very close to her residence.

• At 1:44 a.m., a caller from the 300 block of Broad Street in Nevada City said he had been at a bar in town and got punched in the face by the bartender. The caller said he was trying to leave the bar after a confrontation with a friend's boyfriend when the punch was thrown. The man refused medical treatment for his lip, which was bleeding badly. His arm was also scraped up from dropping to the ground.

• At 1:53 a.m., a caller from the 14300 block of Sun Forest Drive said her boyfriend had stolen her vehicle and broken her big screen TV.

• At 2:09 a.m., a caller from Thoroughbred Loop reported hearing a verbal fight with yelling and screaming, followed by four gunshots.

• At 7:21 a.m., a caller from the 14700 block of Citadel Way said her husband tried to strangle her.

• At 11:58 a.m., a caller from the 15700 block of Dream Sky Way reported there was a bear in her yard refusing to leave, knocking over trash cans and trying to break into a trailer. The caller requested a deputy to help run the bear off.

• At 1:43 p.m., a caller from the 10700 block of Garden Lane reported that a neighbor came to the house the night before, threatening to shoot the dogs and kids.

• At 4:46 p.m., a caller from the 16400 block of Gibboney Lane reported a possibly rabid skunk had been in the yard for the past hour, stumbling around and unable to stand.

• At 7:57 p.m., a report came in of a group fight among young adults in the parking lot of Seaman Lodge at Pioneer Park in Nevada City.

Sunday

• At 5:40 a.m., a caller from the 18500 block of Lazy Lane said he or she came out to his or her vehicle to find a door open and the items inside in complete disarray.

• At 11:28 a.m., a caller from the 16100 block of Brewer Road reported seeing a mountain lion in her yard.

Friday

• At 2:55 a.m., a caller reported noise in the East Main Street area. Officers tracked it down to a construction crew pouring a foundation at the corner of Sierra College Drive and Litton Drive.

• At 9:11 a.m., a business on the 100 block of Joerschke Drive reported a woman walked in looking for her 9-year-old daughter, whom she hadn't seen since the previous night.

• At 6:45 p.m., a caller from city hall reported there was no power.

• At 10:04 p.m., a business on Colfax Avenue reported a subject who had stolen coins out of the Leukemia Fund jar earlier in the year was back at the business. The person was advised to leave, and the owner said he would follow up with police.



Saturday

• At 7:39 a.m., a caller reported a vehicle parked on the 200 block of North Auburn Street had its front windshield smashed.

• At 9:02 a.m., a caller reported that a man got out of a burgundy Corvette and urinated on the wall of a business on the 400 block of Colfax Avenue.

• At 10:56 a.m., a caller from the 100 block of Eureka Street reported someone took $1,000 out of her safe, and she requested a burglary report.

• At 11:46 a.m., a caller from Eureka Street reported the theft of a battery from his or her vehicle.

• At 4:12 p.m., a caller from the 200 block of Dorsey Drive said two neighbors were threatening to beat her up.

• At 4:42 p.m., a caller from the 100 block of Arcadia Drive reported he was on a chat room with a subject who claimed to be a girl, but the contact had a Web cam that revealed he was a male doing sexual acts.



Sunday

• At 10:12 a.m., a caller reported seeing the same vehicle drive into Kidder Cemetery five different times that morning, leading the caller to believe the cemetery had become a place for drug transactions.
