Amanda Smith of Rough and Ready and Daniel Grass of Grass Valley have announced their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Hilton and Linda Smith of Rough and Ready. A high school graduate through home schooling, she works for the Grass Valley School District in Child Food Services.

The future bridegroom is the son of Dennis and Juanita Grass of Grass Valley. A graduate of Nevada Union High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1998 to 2002. He works for the Grass Valley Airport.

The wedding is scheduled for Dec. 9.
