Help Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release: This was sent by Linda Hawkins. "Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release, is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization in Nevada County dedicated to saving wildlife. Due to high numbers of injured and orphaned songbirds, small mammals and raptors this season, we need donations now for food and medical supplies. One of our most-pressing needs is food for the raptors (such as hawks and owls), who eat lots of mice and rats. The cost of mice is now more than 50 cents each, and we are going through more than 100 mice per day! There are several ways people can donate. Donations: send a check to Wildlife Rehabilitation & Release, P.O. Box 868, Penn Valley 95946. Membership: Join WRR for an annual, individual membership fee of $20 or a family membership for $25. You will receive our newsletter and will be invited to learn how to care for songbirds, waterfowl, small mammals or raptors. Internet Searching: Go to www.goodsearch.com and select 'Wildlife Rehabilitation and Release (Penn Valley)' as the charity you are supporting. The search engine is powered by Yahoo! search and works just like searching on Yahoo! or Google. Each search will give us a .01 credit ... it all adds up! Recycle: Pick-up postage paid recycle envelopes to send in your used cell phones and inkjet cartridges (no laser cartridges, please) at one of the following business locations (we are always looking for more locations to make these envelopes available):
n Plaza Tire & Auto in Penn Valley and Nevada City;
n Citizens Bank, Penn Valley Branch.
Register with escrip.com, choosing WRR (Group #3738433) as one of the charities, and participating merchants will contribute to our group based on purchases you make with the cards you have registered.
The animals and birds thanks you. For more information about our group, please visit our Web site at: http://www.wildlife-rehab-release.org."
