Wagons East! Bridgport barn to get new look

Two large freight wagons from the South Yuba River State Park at Bridgeport are loaded to be sent back east where they will be conserved and returned late this year or early in 2007. While the wagons are gone from the Ponderosa Barn at Bridgeport, the Barn Restoration Project will be completed to improve artifact security and provide a stable pathway with wheelchair access through the barn for park visitor viewing. Interpretive panels will be designed and installed to provide historical information pertaining to the barn and wagons, and other artifacts on display. An anonymous donation of $5,000 was received on the condition that matching funds are raised by May 30. For more information regarding this project or to make a donation, contact Don Denton, committee chair, at 432-1888 or Diane Marten, SYRPA President at 432-5012.
