Police blotter

Grass Valley Police Department

Thursday

• At 3:10 p.m., a caller from Mill Street reported a hit-and run accident. Police made contact with the caller and took a report.

• At 5:37 p.m., police assisted someone locked out of a 1998 gold Chrysler on the 500 block of Idaho-Maryland Road.

• At 7:34 p.m., a caller reported that approximately eight juveniles at a school on the 200 block of South Auburn Street offered drugs to the caller's child two days ago. Police made contact with the juveniles at basketball courts and searched them with their consent. Police did not find contraband but kicked the juveniles out of the park for 72 hours.

• At 10:26 p.m., police arrested a 38-year-old woman on the 200 block of Washington Street for a warrant.



Friday

• At 7:41 p.m., a woman called from Colfax Avenue to report someone scratched "b----" into the back of her vehicle. She requested extra patrol in the evening.

• At 9:19 a.m., a woman called from the 400 block of Eskaton Circle to report she was the victim of a mail lottery scam. Police took a report.

Thursday

• At 12:42 p.m., a man called from a motel on the 13000 block of Highway 49 to report he had two counterfeit $20 bills.

• At 7:15 p.m., a woman called from the 11000 block of Mystic Court to report a guitar and amplifier had been stolen within the last two days.

• At 8:12 p.m., a woman called from the 11000 block of Lower Circle Drive to report she found violent toys in her backyard. She found an open knife, and neighborhood kids were playing with nunchuks. The woman was concerned because she has a 4-year-old.

• At 9:02 p.m., a caller from the 19000 block of Hansen Lane reported someone going through her vehicle. Shots were fired from a small caliber handgun to scare the intruder. The intruder fled.



Friday

• At 12:02 a.m., a juvenile reported he fired a warning shot into the hillside on the 19000 block of Hansen Lane to scare an intruder. Deputies arrived and discovered the gun was stolen out of Martinez. Another loaded firearm - a 9 caliber semi-automatic - was found on a pillow by a sleeping child in the bedroom. The juvenile was taken to juvenile hall and his 44-year-old mother was arrested for receiving stolen property and child endangerment.

• At 5:02 p.m., someone reported that a possible sexual assault occurred last night on Commercial Street. Deputies took a report.
