Early Sunday morning, Nick Snow, age 16, died from complications related to an abdominal infection. He died peacefully, painlessly, and surrounded by those who loved him.
Nick was an accomplished drummer and outstanding musician. His music lives
on through the albums he collaborated on, and in the memories of those who saw his many live performances. Recently, he was awarded a music scholarship from Nevada Union High School, where he was a sophomore. He was also an avid astronomer who loved to dream about visiting the nebulas and galaxies he viewed.
Nick was a survivor of a rare form of childhood cancer call Neuroblastoma. After
undergoing seven years of intensive treatments, Nick won his battle and was cancer-free for the past three years. He was a pioneer of numerous cancer therapies, including a cancer vaccine, and his contributions to the scientific medical community continue to save the lives of children today.
Nick was a resident of Nevada City and survived by his mother Shannon, his father
Shelby, his brother Tyler and his sister Chelsea. Also by his grandparents; Gene and Sandra Migneault of Boise Idaho, Jhara Snow of Petaluma, California, Justin Snow of Pennsylvania, as well as his Aunts Machelle, Glenda, Anna, Linda and Becky.
Nicks message to us all is: Life is your right. Dont give up the fight. His teachings and inspiration will never be forgotten by the worldwide community who came to know and love him.
