Women of Worth, a local charity that helps women in need get back on their feet, has received a donation of $1,500 from Newman's Own Organics."This is huge for us," said charity founder Sandy Schmidt of Meadow Vista.Schmidt has been raising money to get an office started where she can receive women who need help and have volunteers.Paul Newman, owner of the company that donates all its profits to charity, wrote the check and sent a letter of congratulations.The award came through Nevada City resident Kate Frame, who is national sales manager for the company.Frame was recognized for work going …
