Penn Valley has a new art gallery, Gallery at Wildwood.
It is owned by Kristen Sulonen and is the only local gallery that sells Thomas Kincaid paintings. It also has original prints by local artist Keith Brown.
The gallery is located at 11368 Pleasant Valley Road in Penn Valley and is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday and noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The Nevada County Calendar of Events for 2006 is now ready and available.
The calendar, which features more than 200 events happening throughout western Nevada County, is a joint effort between the Grass Valley/Nevada County and Nevada City Chambers of Commerce and the two cities' historic bed and breakfast inn.
The calendar can be found at the Nevada City office at 132 Main St. or by calling 265-2692; or at the Grass Valley office at 248 Mill St. or by calling 273-4667.

John Meyer, a sales representative for the Grass Valley branch of AAA, or California State Auto-mobile Association, was recently awarded the "Platinum Club Circle of Excellence" status for 2005.
This recognition is the highest offered for the more than 500 AAA sales representatives in Northern California. Meyer has been an employee in the Grass Valley office for 15 years and has achieved the "Circle of Excellence" designation in each of those years.
