Print Comment
The Humperheads, a beloved local band, won the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce 2005 live music award.

The band hails from Nevada City and made its first appearance on July 4, 1986 and have been playing together ever since at clubs, festivals, benefits and parties all around Northern California.

The group is made up of six professional musicians, each of whom performs all around the country with a variety of acts as sidemen or fronting their own shows.

They include, in alphabetical order: Mikail Graham, guitar and vocals; Paul Kamm, guitar and vocals; Tom MacDonald, guitar, vocals and percussion; Bill Smart, bass and vocals; Dave Smith, keyboards and vocals; and Mark Yedinak on drums.

Said Graham, "To be chosen for this award after 20 years of playing together is a wonderful anniversary gift for a band who came together solely for the sake of playing good music and sharing a fun time with one another and our fans. On behalf of all the Humperheads I'd like to say 'thanks Nevada City, we love ya!"'

For those who would like to see them live, they will be performing at Cooper's in Nevada City on Friday for a Pre-New Years Eve Party, from 9:30 p.m.-1 a.m.
