Bradley J Heward
A celebration of life for Bradley J Heward of Nevada City will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday at Twin Cities Church, 11726 Rough and Ready Highway in Grass Valley. Followed by a potluck at 5:30 p.m. A meeting of Celebrate Recovery will follow at 7 p.m.
Mr. Heward died Thursday, Dec. 22. He was 43.
He was born in 1962, in Heber, Utah, to Jay and Alma Heward. Most of his childhood he lived in Lark, Utah. He attended Granger High School and worked as a welder, mechanic, and roofer in Salt Lake City and Wyoming. In 1983, he married Cheryl McGuire at the home of his in-laws in Nevada City. He worked for Dahl Construction & Construction Maintenance in Bremerton, Wash., until 1985, and from 1985 until 1993 for A.G. Truck Equipment as a welder and mechanic. He was the service manager for DeMartini RV from 1993 until 2004. He enjoyed his home and family, hunting, fishing, hiking, music and drumming, and repairing just about anything. He also enjoyed making venison jerky and smoked salmon.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children Jennifer of Grass Valley, and Bradley and Katie, of Nevada City; mother, Alma Gillespie of Silverdale, Wash.; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Ulyana Heward of Pullallup, Wash.; sister, Shelly Williams of Renton, Wash.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Bonnie McGuire of Nevada City; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margie and Tim DeMartini; sister-in-law, Susan K. McGuire of Nevada City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mike and Jamie McGuire of Challenge, and Kirk and Deanna McGuire of Nevada City; nieces and nephews: Shaun Williams, Sasha and Evan Heward, Vicky, Timmy, Amanda and Brent DeMartini, Douglas, Jessie, Deena, Drew, Megan, and Mason McGuire; cousin Gary D. Collins of Murray, Utah; and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Jay P. Heward; grandmothers Catherine Settlemoir and Blanche Winn; and uncle Mac McGuire.
