Police blotter

Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

• At 9:43 p.m., police arrested a man at Cold Stone Creamery on the 100 block of Neal Street for being drunk in public.

• At 10:42 p.m., a 31-year-old man was arrested for local warrants and disturbing the peace at a Grass Valley bar. A 21-year-old man was also arrested for disturbing the peace.



Saturday

• At 3:19 p.m., a caller from Brunswick Street at Sutton Street reported a baby and a dog were sitting in a blue Volkswagen Jetta with a rack on top. A case was taken for child endangerment.

• At 7:12 p.m., a caller from the 100 block of West Berryhill Drive reported a man hitting a car with a baseball hat over a parking dispute. Police made contact with all involved parties, and the victim refused to press charges.

• At 10:11 p.m., a person was detained for stealing hubcaps. Police made contact with all involved parties and were unable to locate the victim. The hubcaps were replaced. No arrests were made.

• At 10:12 p.m., a caller from the 300 block of West Main Street reported a juvenile was urinating on a building. Police were unable to locate the juvenile.

• At 11:33 p.m., police arrested a woman on the northbound Highway 49 onramp at Bennett Street for drunken driving.



Sunday

• At 7:16 a.m., a man reported his red 1992 Toyota Tercel was side-swiped by an unknown vehicle.

• At 1:23 p.m., a caller from the 100 block of West Berryhill Drive reported a burglary that occurred on Dec. 8. A stereo, amplifier, bag and Christmas presents were reportedly taken from a blue 2001 Toyota Echo.

• At 11:02 p.m., police arrested a 29-year-old man on Empire Street for rape.



Monday

• At 2:44 a.m., police searched for a man with a handgun in front of Albertsons. An extensive area check was made with Nevada County Sheriff's deputies, but police were unable to locate the man.

• At 3:41 a.m., a caller from the 200 block of South Auburn Street reported a possible attempted burglary at the Express Mart. The window was shattered but intact.

• At 4:30 a.m., a nursing supervisor from Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital reported that a California flag was stolen from a pole. The exterior lights in the outpatient parking lot were also damaged and smoking/sparking. Information was given to the California Department of Forestry for a possible electrical fire, and a report was taken for vandalism.

• At 8:59 a.m., a caller from East Main Street reported a noninjury car accident. A report was taken.

Saturday

• At 12:20 p.m., a caller from the Ponderosa overpass reported juveniles were acting like they were going to jump off the overpass, causing vehicles to slam on their brakes on Highway 20. Deputies made contact with the juveniles, who said they would not do it again.

• At 6:36 p.m., a man called from Calcite Court to report that a man with a mustache wearing a black leather jacket came to his door and said "God sent me." The caller told the man he was not interested.

• At 9:19 p.m., a woman called from the 10000 block of Cedar Way to report that her husband was knocking on the door trying to get in the house, and she has a restraining order against him. A judge reportedly ordered her husband not to go to the residence, and she is concerned her son is scared of his father. Deputies made contact with her husband, who was advised of the restraining order process.

• At 9:31 p.m., a woman called from the 11000 block of Hanley Drive to report a physical fight. A report was taken for battery.

• At 10:13 p.m., a caller from Highway 20 east of Rough and Ready reported a deer with a broken leg. The California Highway Patrol handled the call.



Sunday

• At 12:14 a.m., a caller from the Crazy Horse Saloon reported that people were throwing glasses at the bartender.

• At 4:06 a.m., a woman called from the 12000 block of Summit Ridge Drive and reported a bear on her back deck trying to get inside.

• At 11:56 a.m., a woman called from the 10000 block of Alta Street to report that her tenant's dog bit her and bruised her leg. Animal Control responded and did not quarantine the dog. The bite did not break the skin.

• At 3:08 p.m., a woman called from Conservation Camp Road to report someone broke her car window with a rock while she was hiking in the area. A report was taken for burglary.

• At 4:19 p.m., a caller from the 14000 block of Sugar Loaf Road reported buried pets with marked graves, etched granite stones and fresh roses on a vacant property.

• At 4:40 p.m., a woman called from the 10000 block of Wolf Road to report a vehicle burglary.

• At 8:49 p.m., a woman called from the 10000 block of Lady Bug Lane to report seeing a male face through the window in her front door, and she heard her door knocker. She said she saw the man go around the side of the house.



Monday

• At 9:08 a.m., a woman called from the 23000 block of Perimeter Road to report that her neighbor's dogs came onto her property on Saturday and killed her miniature Daschund. Nevada County Animal Control was advised.
