Public Tours

Empire Mine public tours- take place daily at Empire Mine State Historic Park. Theater/Comedy

Aladdin- an inspiring and magical musical performed by the Nevada County Performing Arts Guild at the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley. A Christmas Story- will be performed by The Foothill Theatre Company at the Nevada Theatre in Nevada City. Adapted by Philip Grecian from the classic film and the book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash by Jean Shepard. "You'll shoot your eye out!" That's what all the grownups say when little Ralphie tells them that all he wants for Christmas - his dream, his obsession, the holy grail of all Christmas presents - is "an official Red Ryder BB Gun with realistic pump action, a compass in the stock, and this thing that tells time!" Set more than a half a century ago in a more innocent America, this sweet and nostalgic tale is riotously funny throughout. Grandma's Turning Eighty!- a new musical revue by Jan Kopp and John Driscoll will be performed at Off Broadstreet Theater in Nevada City. In Grandma's Turning Eighty!, a young woman stages a birthday tribute to her 80-year-old grandmother. She presents a "memorial-service-while-she's-still-alive-to-appreciate-it," chronicling her grandmother's poor beginnings during the Great Depression in rural Alabama and her move to California during World War II. Performances are 8:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday through Dec. 23, except Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 25, and 26.
