Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

• A caller reported at 4:42 p.m. that three juveniles were throwing cones on Freeman Lane.

• At 7 p.m., a man and woman reportedly stole a pair of shoes from Payless ShoeSource on Freeman Lane and were later seen at the JC Penney Men's Store.

• A man called at 8:32 p.m. from the 100 block of West Berryhill Drive requesting a police officer come arrest him as a favor.

Saturday

• At 12:41 a.m., a house party with juveniles was reported to be occurring on the 500 block of Glenwood Road. There was reportedly no parental supervision.

• A caller reported at 11:28 a.m. that tomatoes had been thrown at the caller's garage on the 500 block of Penstock Drive. No damage was reported.

• At 6:20 p.m., a caller reported a man had passed out out in the caller's residence on the 100 block of Carpenter Street. The man did not live there, and he was about 30 years old and wore jeans, but no shirt. Police responded and told the man to leave.

• At 6:35 p.m., a woman was removed from a park on East Daniels Street for smoking. She cannot return for 72 hours.

• A caller reported at 11 p.m. hearing someone run through the back of the caller's property on the 400 block of Bennett Street.

Friday

• A caller reported at 1:04 p.m. the theft of gas from the caller's vehicle while it was parked in the Park and Ride in Penn Valley earlier in the week.

• At 4:20 p.m., three juveniles were reportedly skateboarding in front of the main entrance to Lyman Gilmore School. The caller also reported that it appeared they had brought their own ramps.

• At 9:04 p.m., a caller reported that three women were drinking beer in the dirt parking lot behind the arena at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.

Saturday

• A caller reported at 2:19 a.m. that someone in a black truck was "spinning doughnuts" at Gate 1 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.

• At 9:42 a.m., a caller reported that the night before, a vehicle drove up to a residence on the 10500 block of Welsh Lane with its headlights off. Then, a person with a flashlight approached the house. Then, the vehicle left quickly. The vehicle returned again approximately 15 minutes later. It was a compact vehicle with a tinny-sounding muffler and had at least two males aboard, the caller said.

• At 11:49 a.m., a caller reported someone was possibly trying to steal a "changeable" road construction sign near Independence Trail on Highway 49.

• At 12:04 p.m., a caller reported suspicious circumstances at a home on Woodbury Drive. The caller reported hearing screaming for the past several minutes from a house with multiple vehicles parked in the driveway. Deputies responded and learned that a women's anger management seminar was going on.

• A woman from the 10400 block of Mercury Drive called "911" at 1:48 p.m., but hung up. Upon call back, the woman said that the "1" button sticks on her phone.

Sunday

• A woman called at 12:43 a.m. to report that someone had slammed his or her body against her vehicle, leaving a large dent. The person then headed toward Camptonville in a bronze Honda Accord.

Saturday

• At 9:40 a.m., a sewer leak was reported on the 500 block of Factory Street.

• A woman reported at 2:49 p.m. that a half hour before she saw a blue-silver pickup truck travelling toward the downtown on North Pine Street with two dogs in the bed. One dog jumped out, at which time the vehicle ran over it twice. The driver then retrieved the animal, threw it in the bed, turned around, and drove out of town.
