Hope seen for meth addicts

Print Comment
Western Nevada County’s drug recovery community turned out in force Thursday night to say there is hope for methamphetamine addicts.

At a town hall meeting in Grass Valley broadcast by KVMR, former addicts and county officials said there are already many meth recovery success stories in the county. Those successful people support each other and welcome those who need help according to Bob Rogers, an ex-con who has been clean from meth for three years.

Rogers and others said the county’s drug courts, the Community Recovery Resources group and its new alumni association are all making a dent in the county’s meth epidemic. Meeting panel members said to make that dent larger, more money for education and treatment is needed from the private and public sectors.
