War is backfiring

The "War on Terror" is not working. It is generating terrorists and increasing the threat of terrorist activities, If we are sincerely interested in promoting peace and democracy, what needs to be done?

1. Stop the war. Bring the troops home immediately. Stop dictating. Let the people of Iraq decide by whom and what form of government they shall have.

2. Close the prisons. Stop the abuse of prisoners and free those citizens who have been unjustly imprisoned.

3 Offer assistance. Give generous aid, when desired, to rebuild the areas that have been devastated

4. Cooperate. Cease taking arbitrary, independent positions. Listen carefully to all nations and the United Nations to help eliminate hunger and suffering - the causes of conflict and war.

This would be only a beginning and there is no guarantee that this would work, but the chance of success in really reducing the terrorist threat is much greater than the present policies.
