Ruth L. Snyder, 88, of Grass Valley, died Thursday, June 30, at a local medical facility.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no services. Private inurnment will take place at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.
Mrs. Snyder was born Dec. 24, 1916, in River Rouge, Mich., to Lawrence J. and Ethel M. (Davis) Sain. She moved as a child to Arizona, and then to Randsburg. She attended school in Randsburg, and Bakersfield. She married Cecil L. Gray in 1935, and then Emery "Mick" Snyder in 1951. She moved to Grass Valley in 1937. She worked at the Ben Franklin Store for 12 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling and her family.
She is survived by her sons Lawrence Gray of Nevada City, and Louis Gray of Stockton; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Sain of McKinleyville; sister, Dodie McNary of Bakersfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mick Snyder in 2003; brothers John and William Sain; and sister, Ethel Hatton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
