CABPRO welcomes new directors

The California Association of Business, Property and Resource Owners (CABPRO) welcomed two new members to its board of directors recently — Kim Janousek and George Rebane.

CABPRO is a organization dedicated to strengthening and restoring the economic vitality of the county, working for lower fees and taxes, less government regulation, and preservation of private property rights, according to its mission statement.

Janousek graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1970. She taught kindergarten and first grade before joining her family as partners in B&C True Value. She is also the managing partner of the Fowler Center. She serves on The Friendship Club’s board of directors and is a founding member of Citizens for Property Rights in Nevada County, which began in response to Natural Heritage 2020.

Rebane is a consultant to businesses, primarily energy, media, and e-commerce. He serves on the Nevada County Economic Resource Council Telecommunications Committee. He is a member of Rotary, where he is inaugurating a citizen numerical literacy project co-sponsored by the county library.

Other CABPRO board members include Chairman Simi Lyss, M.D., Michael McDaniel, McDaniel Wealth Management, Josie Bost, Property Manager, Lowell Robinson, Robinson Enterprises, and Margaret Urke, Urke Enterprises, Inc. The executive director is Myrna Barber.
