I write to nominate Ron Lowe as Poet Laureate of Nevada County. His terse verses go beyond nuanced meter, alliteration and consonance and include liberal measures of assonance.

His rhyme is so subtle it takes study to find it at all. His personal authority is so obvious that neither fact nor reasoning need mar his art. He weaves hidden themes into his work that are so carefully camouflaged so as to be indiscernable. His secondary messages can be decoded only by referencing mystic crop circles. His choice of words carries additional meaning if read backwards or rearranged into anagrams. His poetic talent is such that he produces verse with little apparent thought.

Only a poetic genius could weave together so much meaning and still produce such a large volume of poetry. If a lesser mortal wrote poetry at the same rate, the quality would no doubt suffer.
