Paulette's has been a local favorite for many years. The interior decor is cozy and comfortable with a large stone fireplace, quilts and artwork, all reflecting its "country" theme. There are numerous booths and plenty of seating, so waiting is rarely an issue.

Paulette's has a large selection of breakfast items, including Steve's favorite country fried steak with biscuits and gravy, a variety of egg dishes and omelettes, pancakes, waffles and French toast.

Fran recently ordered an omelet with her mother and they were gracious enough to split the omelet in half and serve it as two separate complete dishes. It's always a pleasure to receive unexpected special accommodations.

For lunch, you have a large selection of burgers, hot sandwiches and cold sandwiches to choose from. The mushroom burger with sauteed mushrooms and Swiss cheese and the Mexican burger with Ortega chili, jack cheese, avocado and salsa are excellent.

Hot sandwiches include the 49er turkey sandwich with fresh baked turkey, Swiss cheese, bacon and tomato on grilled sourdough, a French dip sandwich, roast beef and Ortega, grilled ham and cheese, hot dogs, barbecue beef, charbroiled chicken and steak sandwiches.

There are several cold sandwiches to choose from, including ham, turkey, roast beef, egg salad, BLT, and tuna. The club sandwich is one of Fran's favorites. All of the sandwiches come with your choice of fries, fruit, soup or salad.

For the diet conscious, there is a nice selection of low-fat sandwiches, including a garden burger, low-fat mushroom burger, low-fat Mexi-melt, barbecue dip, chicken salad, tuna salad and vegetable salad to name a few.

In addition to sandwiches, there are many salads to choose from - fish and chips, chicken strips, chili, homemade soup, and soup and salad combinations. Paulette's has an excellent selection of side orders, including our favorite - onion rings, deep-fried cheese sticks, Jalapeno poppers, hot wings, fried zucchini and potato skins.

Save room for dessert.

Paulette makes her pies from scratch and they are so good you'll want to take a whole pie home with you. Steve loves the banana cream pie and warmed Dutch apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

The carrot cake is Paulette's own special recipe and is delicious, as is the tapioca pudding and warm bread pudding. There are several ice cream sundaes to choose from as well, including chocolate, strawberry, pineapple and hot fudge.

Paulette's features a large selection of beverages - milkshakes, beer and wine. Breakfast is served all day and you can order almost everything on the menu to go.

There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is easy to find.

If you haven't been to Paulette's, we definitely recommend you give them a try. Their large selection of breakfast and lunch items will suit almost any taste, their pricing is very reasonable and the service is consistently excellent.
