"Callies" by Barbara Killeen will be among the works shown at Pioneer Arts 19th annual membership show.
Pioneer Arts celebrates its 19th annual membership show throughout this month at Center for the Arts in Grass Valley.
In the past, the show was held for just three days at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.
More than 50 area artists have works displayed, which include watercolors, ceramic sculpture, oils and mixed media.
Marie Johnson, Foothill Flowers owner, will be honored at this year's membership show for her many years of support for local artists.
"Every show I have attended, I have enjoyed beautiful flowers that Marie sends along," said club President Susan Barry. "She is such a great support to all artists and her community. Now we want to thank her."
Artists will staff the center's gallery from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays until May 31.
Artists will demonstrate how they work, starting with watercolorist Mim Meakin from 1 to 3 p.m. May 12 at Center for the Arts.
A free opening reception will be at the center, 314 W. Main St., from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Refreshments and music will be included.
A closing reception, "Decadent Dessert and Fine Art Extravaganza," will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on May 29. The $10 admission will go to the Pioneer Arts Scholarship Fund. Twenty desserts will be prepared artistically by club members for gourmet tastings.
