Josephine “JoAnn” Ann Montgomery passed away at her home Jan. 20, 2012. She had family and friends at her side.

A memorial celebration of life will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the West Sacramento Kingdom Hall. Please call Jim at (530) 273-6534 for information.

JoAnn was born Dec. 5, 1948, in Grass Valley to Thelma and Joseph Slouber. She was a product of our local schools, graduating from Nevada Union in 1966. She married Loyd Montgomery in 1972. JoAnn retired from University of California, Davis, in 2010. JoAnn was devoted to her Jehovah Witness ministry.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Loyd; her two sons, Jeremy Montgomery and Ian Montgomery (Joan); daughter, Erin Nelson (Will); brothers, James Slouber (Kathy), John Slouber, and Joseph Slouber (Lana); sisters, Rosemary Vannberg (Dave), and Catherine Nelson; and granddaughter Sarah Montgomery.

Additionally, JoAnn is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Thelma Slouber.
