Zach Masch, a 2007 Nevada Union graduate, has been invited to participate in the AstroTurf NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Carson, Calif.
The game offers a shot for the former Nevada Union and University of Hawaii defensive end to show pro scouts his talents.
After an impressive senior year at Nevada Union, Masch attended Arizona Western Community College in Yuma, Ariz.
At Arizona Western Community College Masch accumulated 81 tackles and six sacks in two seasons.
Masch transferred to the University of Hawaii in 2009 where he redshirted. In 2010, as a junior, Masch played 10 games grabbing 13 tackles and two sacks. In his senior year, Masch had a break out season with 40 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
Masch has hired William Baldini of BAC Sports Management as his agent and is currently training in Arizona.
Former NFL coaches Dick Vermeil and Tom Flores will be leading the two teams in the Jan. 21 bowl game.

Basketball
Patrick Scott (Bear River '09) Sonoma State — Scott and the Seawolves knocked off No. 10 Cal Poly Pomona Saturday to make it three straight victories in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.Scott scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out three assists in the win.
Earlier in the week, Sonoma State topped CCAA foe San Francisco State, 81-69.
Scott tallied five points and three rebounds in the Seawolves' victory.
Sonoma State (7-7, 5-5) will hope to keep improving its CCAA record Friday when it takes on UC San Diego.
Josh Ritchart (Forest Lake Christian '10) UC Davis - Ritchart and the Aggies tallied two more losses last week as they continue to struggle to get a Big West Conference win.
With Thursday's, 86-58, loss to Long Beach State and Saturday's, 84-80, loss to Cal State Northridge, the Aggies are now 1-16 overall and 0-5 in league play.
Against Long Beach State, Ritchart led his team in points with 12 and also pulled down four rebounds to go with two assists.
Facing Cal State Northridge, Ritchart logged 14 points and four rebounds.
UC Davis will look to snap its 13-game losing streak Saturday when it hosts Pacific.
Caroline Reeves (Nevada Union '08) Cal Poly San Luis Obispo - Reeves and the Mustangs trampled UC Riverside, 71-43, Thursday but fell to UC Irvine, 62-60, on Saturday.
Facing UC Riverside, Reeves scored three points and had four rebounds in the win.
Against UC Irvine, Reeves tallied nine points to go with two assists and two rebounds.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is now 3-1 in Big West Conference play and 6-10 overall. They will try to keep the wins coming Thursday when they head to Cal State Northridge.
Cassie Davidson (Nevada Union '08) William Jessup University - Davidson and the Warriors are still looking for their first win this season. William Jessup lost Saturday to California State University-Maritime, 72-46.
The Warriors (0-17, 0-3) played well early going into half time trailing by four points.
But, CSU-Maritime ran away with the victory in the second half outscoring the Warriors 43-21.
Davidson tallied eight points in the loss.
Marie Viola (Nevada Union '08) William Jessup University - Viola played well in Saturday night's loss to CSU-Maritime, leading her team with 10 points.
The Warriors will try to get their first win Thursday against Simpson University.
