The potential for legal marijuana in California is generating interest statewide with the introduction of Prop. 19 to the November ballot.

The Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010 will be discussed at 1 p.m. today at a meeting of the Nevada City Rotary Club at the National Hotel in Nevada City.

Nevada County District Attorney Cliff Newell and criminal defense attorney Stephen A. Munkelt are set to present various aspects of the ballot measure.

A lunch will precede the meeting at 12:15 p.m., cost $12. The National is located on 211 Broad St., downtown Nevada City.
