Red Cross volunteers are providing emergency shelter for three people displaced by an early-morning fire in southern Nevada County.

A house fire was reported at 5 a.m. Wednesday on the 11000 block of Lime Kiln Road, according to dispatch logs.

The fire broke out in the upper part of the house, where the occupants were remodeling, Red Cross volunteer Beverly Parr said.
