Nevada City's Dan Brown Jr. won the Limited Late Model points championship Saturday at the Placerville Speedway.
It's his second Limited Late Model points title, according to the Placerville Speedway website. Brown defeated his next closest challenger Jay Norton by 29 points.
In Saturday's race, Brown finished fourth in the Limited Late Model “A” feature race after declining to compete in a heat race.
Bob Ortwine, of Grass Valley, took 14th place in the Limited Late Model “A” feature race as well. He finished a distant 16th place in the final point tallies and didn't compete in a heat race either.
Nevada City's Michelle McClure finished second, falling 47 points short of Placerville's Chris Curtiss, who officially claimed the 2010 Pure Stocks points crown Saturday.
McClure finished eighth in the Pure Stocks “A” feature race, while Curtiss took second.
The 21 year old's father, Burney, finished ahead of her, capturing fifth place in the Pure Stocks “A” feature race.
The younger McClure took second in a heat race. Her father finished sixth in the same heat.
Chris Van Roekel, of Grass Valley, took 14th place in the Pure Stocks “A” feature race. He finished fourth in a heat race and fourth in the final season standings.
Colfax's Colby Wiesz captured eighth place in the 360 Sprint “A” feature race Saturday, but was 16th in the season's final points tally. He took second in a heat race.
Carl Droivold, of Grass Valley, finished right behind Wiesz in the feature race in ninth place. Droivold took fifth in a separate heat race and finished 30th in the final points tally.
