Anne and Phil Starr of Nevada City have announced the engagement of their son, Eric Starr to Sarah Skuster, both of San Diego.

The future bride is the daughter of Marc and Jane Skuster of Victorville.

She graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy and received a bachelor's degree in music from the Cleveland Institute of Music.

She is the principal oboe in the San Diego Symphony.

The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Nevada Union High School. He received a bachelor's degree in music from the University of Southern California, a master's of music from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a doctor of musical arts from the State University of New York Stony Brook.

He is a freelance musician.

The couple met at the Cleveland Institute of Music while pursuing their music careers.

Sarah played with the Dallas Symphony while Eric received his doctor of musical arts in New York.

They both now live and work in San Diego.

The wedding will be held June 25, 2011, on the grounds of Sierra Starr Vineyard.
