Betty Farchi died at home July 26. She was 81.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Aug. 1, at Abundant Life Community Church, Grass Valley.
She was born April 1, 1929, in San Francisco to George and Florence Griffitts. She grew up in Mill Valley, Calif., enjoying her family's love of the outdoors. Her many remembrances included skipping across the Golden Gate Bridge on opening day in 1937, hikes on Mt. Tamalpais and three summers working in Yosemite.
Mrs. Farchi graduated from Tamalpais High School in 1946, and the University of California, Berkeley in 1950.
She was married to Larry Farchi and they moved to Nevada County in 1964. Mrs. Farchi was active in her church. She loved to take walks and visit with people. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Farchi is survived by daughters Susan (Terry) Wearne of Grass Valley and Peggy (Ken) Butler of Oceanside, Calif.; son Hank (Donna) Farchi of Yankee Hill, Calif.; grandchildren Rachel and Gretchen Wearne, Kevin and BreeLynn Butler; and several cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Mrs. Farchi was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Farchi; and sisters, Mary Ryan and Nancy Mason. Memorial donations to Abundant Life Community Church.
Arrangements are under direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary and Crematory.ᘖ
