Nevada Joint Union High School District may use the same search firm that plucked Superintendent Ralf Swenson away from Grass Valley to find his replacement.
The board will vote at a meeting 6 p.m. Wednesday whether to contract with Dave Long and Associates, a Southern California-based executive search firm headed by former California State Secretary of Education Dave Long.
The search firm has located leaders for Mother Lode Union School District in Placerville and Natomas Unified School District in Sacramento, among others, according to its website.
After the vote, trustees will conduct a superintendent search planning session, according to the agenda, which can be downloaded using the link at left.
This will be the last week on the job for current Superintendent Swenson, who will start at San Diego County's Grossmont Unified School District on Aug. 9.
Board of Trustees President Mark Heauser said the district will not hire an interim superintendent in the foreseeable future.
Trustees will meet at the district office, 11645 Ridge Road in Grass Valley.
